The continuing journey
Our Working Life research series explores the experiences of 18 people as they move into employment, with support from our Employment & Training team and keeps in touch with 14, tracking their progress in work and in life, for up to 25 months.
Part Two, A Working Life: The Continuing Journey highlights the longer-term positive impact of employment in supporting people out of homelessness and in rebuilding their lives.
It also highlights the sheer determination and resilience of the research participants, the myriad of factors involved in keeping work, and the particular challenges that housing and health posed for participants in sustaining work. The study challenges perceptions of homelessness in terms of employment.
This report concludes our long-term research series on people with experience of homelessness returning to work. View Part One: The Early Days.
